About this package
The Dangerous Goods Essentials Package is designed for drivers, contractors and transport operators responsible for the safe movement of hazardous substances, fuel and heavy freight. Bringing together three nationally recognised programs, this package ensures participants are properly licenced, trained and compliant with legislative requirements while maintaining the highest safety standards in road transport.
Course content
Participants will complete the EPA Dangerous Goods Licence, providing in-depth knowledge of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code and relevant legislation for transporting hazardous materials by road. The program also includes the Safe Load Program (SLP), a mandatory requirement for drivers and contractors loading and delivering fuel at terminals and service stations, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. To further support compliance, the package concludes with Mass & Load Restraint Awareness Training, covering load distribution, restraint methods and obligations under the Chain of Responsibility.
Who can do this package?
This package is suited to heavy vehicle drivers, fuel tank operators, dangerous goods transporters and logistics personnel handling the movement of hazardous substances or bulk freight. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and hold a current driver’s licence to complete the EPA Dangerous Goods Licence.
