About this course

This 2-day program provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate a boom-type EWP in compliance with all relevant legislative requirements. The course prepares participants to undertake the SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence assessment.

  • Theory training on EWP types, functions and operating capabilities
  • Workplace health and safety legislation, hazard identification and risk control
  • Pre-operational inspections and safety requirements
  • Safe use of harnesses and fall protection equipment
  • Practical hands-on operation of a boom-type EWP
  • Safe operating, shutdown and emergency procedures
  • Knowledge and practical competency assessment

Who can do this course?

SafeWork NSW requires that applicants are at least 18 years of age.

  • Photo identification
  • Completed boom lift pre-training materials
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
