About this course
This course provides a comprehensive overview of Work Health and Safety, giving participants the knowledge and skills to understand WHS laws, workplace responsibilities and practical approaches to managing health and safety in the workplace. It also explains the role of SafeWork NSW, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Health and Safety Committees in ensuring safe and compliant work environments.

- Roles and responsibilities of duty holders
- Key WHS terminology
- Role of SafeWork NSW and penalties for non-compliance
- Workplace consultation requirements
- Roles, entitlements and protections for HSRs and HSCs
- Issue resolution strategies
- Hazard identification and risk control methods
- Incident notification and investigation procedures
- Enforcement powers: Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and directing unsafe work to cease

SafeWork NSW requires that applicants are at least 18 years of age.
